Born in Parma, Emilia-Romagna, 1937. He graduated in geology from the University of Parma. In 1963 he started working as a graphic designer in Milan, developing projects for major companies, including Alitalia, Cassa di Risparmio, Neiman Marcus, Poste Italiane, SCIC, and others. In 1964 he entered the publishing industry with the first reprint ever of Giambattista Bodoni’s Typographic Manual. During the 1980s he started to publish FMR, “the most beautiful magazine in the world.” He recently built a labyrinth-museum in his estate just outside Parma, displaying his classic art and Bodoni’s books collections.
