Born in Vercelli, Piedmont, 1924. After studying architecture, he started exhibiting as a painter in 1947 with a personal show in Stockholm. As a graphic designer, he served major companies including Alfa Romeo, Einaudi, Feltrinelli, Il Sole 24 Ore, LaRinascente, Max Meyer, Olivetti, Pirelli, Rai, and Triennale. From 1956 to 1960 he worked as the art director of Zodiac magazine, that was published by Adriano Olivetti. Since 1953 he also designed the products manufactured by his own company, and other products for Baccarat, Bing & Grondahl, Richard Ginori, and Tiffany. He was awarded major recognitions including two Compasso d’Oro, the Bodoni Prize, and the Milan ADC Prize. He has been also president of AGI Italia. He died in Milan, Lombardy, 1993.
