Book covers for two volumes published by Pelican Books, a famous book series by Penguin Books of London. Facetti was art director of Penguin Books from 1962 to 1971. He coordinated and directed the redesign of numerous series but also designed many covers by himself proving his talent as a graphic designer.

Here, a great liveliness is achieved by using a few engravings printed in a few colours. Colours in particular produce great visual strength and suggest the presence of different visual depths: blue looks farther while red looks closer. Title is set in Neue Haas Grotesk (Helvetica).
