Born in Cagliari, Sardinia, 1934. He graduated in architecture from the Politecnico University in Milan and worked for several years as the assistant of Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. He started working as art consultant for LaRinascente Development Office, on packaging and exhibition projects. Art director of Abitare from 1974 to 1986. Art director of Domus from 1986 to 1992. Art director and editor-in-chief of Abitare from 1992 to 2007. He served many major clients, including IBM, Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Palazzo Grassi, RAI, and Triennale for which he designed the official mark. In 2006 he co-designed the identity and urban exhibition for the Turin Winter Olympics. Member of ADI and AGI. Honorary member of AIAP. Honorary Royal Design for Industry. He was awarded three Compasso d’Oro. He died in 2023 in Milan, Italy.
